Building a Legacy as a Wise Woman

For the last several weeks, we’ve been working on a building project for one of our clients.

It’s been a fascinating experience as we’ve spent time meeting with architects & contractors and poring over floor plans.

One of the reasons why this company is creating a new space is that they want to continue to build their brand – and they want everything in this office to reflect the legacy they are building.

This has been a very deliberate pursuit for them as they’ve had to think not just about the big things, but all the little things involved in building their new company home.

In the same way, you and I should be building our spiritual house and legacy.

A few weeks ago, I taught Sunday School on Proverbs 9, contrasting the lives of the wise woman and the foolish woman. One thing that stood out to me was verse 1:

Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:

What kind of testimony and legacy are you building?

If someone were to sum up your life, character, and reputation in one word, what would they say? What word would they use to describe you? Funny? Smart? Foolish? Lazy? Wise? Godly?

Personally, that’s a tough question for me to answer. While I’m not sure what people would say today, I do know what I’d love for them to say about me when I’ve crossed the finish line and finished my race:

Christ-like.
